First Ever NYC Young Professionals Book Club Meeting

Come join us for our first-ever NYC Young Professionals Book Club meeting! We will start off with general introductions and then dive right into discussing the book that is chosen. This first meeting will be virtual so that it can be as convenient as possible for everybody. If you have any friends who you think would enjoy this club as well please feel free to invite them!

After some much-appreciated recommendations from members in the discussion section, the first book we will be reading and discussing is "Big Magic: Creative Living Beyond Fear" by Elizabeth Gilbert.

With about a month in advance before the meeting, hopefully that will allow everyone to get their hands on the book and read it! However, anyone is more than welcome to come to the meeting if they haven't read the novel fully. Regardless of whether you have read 30 pages, 100 pages, 200 pages, or the whole book beforehand, I look forward to learning from and hearing everyone's own opinions and takeaways!

"With profound empathy and radiant generosity, [Gilbert] offers potent insights into the mysterious nature of inspiration. She asks us to embrace our curiosity and to let go of needless suffering. She shows us how to tackle what we most love, and how to face down what we most fear. She discusses the attitudes, approaches, and habits that enable us to live our creative lives to the fullest. Balancing between soulful spirituality and cheerful pragmatism, Gilbert encourages us to uncover the "strange jewels" that are hidden within each of us. Whether we are looking to write a book, make art, find new ways to address challenges in our work, embark on a dream long deferred, or simply infuse our everyday lives with more mindfulness and passion, Big Magic cracks open a world of wonder and joy." "A must-read for anyone hoping to live a creative life... I dare you not to be inspired to be brave, to be free, and to be curious.” —PopSugar

"Gilbert's love of creativity is infectious, and there's a lot of great advice in this sunny book." -The Washington Post

"[Gilbert] shares intimate glimpses into the life of a world-famous creative, complete with bouts of paralyzing fear and frustration, in an attempt to coax the rest of us into walking through the world just a little bit braver." -Elle

"Consider her your own personal life coach." - Marie Claire

I look forward to meeting everyone and discussing the book! If anyone has any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to reach out in the discussion section or you can email me at
